The conference is cancelled due to the Corona virus (Covid-19).
Dear participant,
The conference "Mixed species forests: Risks, Resilience and Management", that was possible postponed to 2020-10-27-29, will definitely be cancelled due to the corona situation.
We have discussed several options, including an online event, but have come to the conclusion to cancel the conference. This was not an easy decision since we and you have put a lot of efforts into the arrangement and into summarizing different studies.
We will, however, produce the abstract book that will be sent to you as an PDF. You may also record your presentation and send us the link (note that this is voluntary). The PDF and the links will later be available at the conference web-page (https://www.mixedforest2020.se/). In case you consider to send us the link to your presentation please contact me (magnus.lof@slu.se) for format and instructions. The deadline for this is September 30.
The work with the special issue in Forest Ecology and Management is maintained and ongoing. Many participants sent papers, and many of these are now under review.
Unfortunately, there have been a lot of costs for the arrangement even if it is now cancelled (web-page, abstract handling, registrations, venue etc.). We will, however, pay back parts of the conference fee. For the moment we are not sure of the exact amount but estimate that approx. a third can be paid back. Within a couple of weeks you will be contacted by Akademikonferens about this.
We are very sorry that this exiting conference could not be held but hope that you understand the situation.
All the best,
Magnus Löf, Anna Barbati, Andres Bravo-Oviedo, Felipe Bravo, Hervé Jactel, Hans Pretzsch and Miren del Rio
